Ludent is a substance that strengthens tooth enamel, which helps prevent dental cavities. Ludent is used to prevent tooth decay in people whose drinking water contains low levels of fluoride (less than 0.6 parts per million). Ludent may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide. You should not use Ludent if the level of fluoride in your drinking water is greater than 0.6 parts per million (ppm).   • Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
  • Very upset stomach or throwing up.
